Originally by: Nez Perces And because I know how you operate I can say with 100% confidence that even when you are inactive you still try your damndest pull the strings in FIX, I know because I had the unfortunate experience of being an active Joint Chief of Staff, whilst you were inactive (incidently FIX's most succesful era)... and you still threatened to boycott reform via IT (a founding member) if it didn't suit you.
At the time of the end of the CODA war IT was the only one of the initial 4 corps remaining in the alliance, that were the cornerstone for the old QDF (mainly for political reasons). To say that you had no say or input in the matter is an outright lie. You are still the self-appointed voice of FIX are you not?... I would say that speaks volumes.
Nez Nez NezNezNez. How you doin princess? I've missed you!
Now here is a bit of a subject I can sink my teeth into. Mainly due to the fact that I was a JCoS at the time of the Pure split, which if you remember was prior to the conclusion of the CODA war. Just prior to Gritt leaving with what would become Pure, he used his amazing political prowess to place himself as the sole Dictator/CEO of FIX, with a Board of Directors under that title. Two days later he took off with the future Pure corps. Leaving FIX needing to elect a new leadership. Rather than re-reinvent the wheel, the model was kept and Valhallan was elected to the position.
I too got to stay on the Board itself, and was online when the fall of 9cg was imminent and the BoB deal came in. Good choice or bad choice, Valhallan made the call, with the full support of his Board. And the corps of FIX (who by the way are all the same corps that you see now, minus 2 due to recent(ish) events) supported his decision and went about rebuilding the alliance again. A pretty amazing achievement considering the position we were in at the time.
Maybe not glamourous or chock full of intrigue and drama. But that is the condensed story of the BoB deal and the CODA war. Give Av as much credit as you like. But somehow I think Val would be offended that you give him so little credit for his time as a FIX leader. Out of our much retold history, I believe he had the single hardest term as a leader. And I believe that he handled himself and the alliance with the utmost dignity and aplomb. He unified a beaten alliance, brought everyone back together and got us back on track. For all that and being a great guy besides, Valhallan will always have my respect and thanks.
And thank YOU Nez! If it weren't for you resubbing every other month so you can tilt at the FIX windmill, I don't think many of us would read COAD. But when using some of your more descriptive words for Avernus, I feel I should point out that he is somewhere out there in EvE. Undocking, pvping, (gasp) mining, all that good stuff. It's kinda sad that you stalk him so prolifically on the forums, but I've yet to see a single kill or loss mail generated from your Epic dislike of the man. (Though that one I was on during our Industrial derby was rofl )
Much love to ya man. But you're still out of the loop. Hell, if you wanna throw turds at us, join Goons. At least you'll have access to our forum intel.
Happy New Year to all!
